Ok so I guess, on a pre-installed system, you are using Windows XP.
If you really have a version 1.0, we cannot really do anything because the
version is too old (we are currently at version 3.1).
So, maybe give the current version a try:
http://download.openoffice.org/index.html
The problem you reported is clear (I can *imagine* it) but I cannot reproduce
it. Then we cannot fix it so far.
Furthermore, this is not the right place here to get help (if you expect some
help). Have a look at: http://support.openoffice.org/index.html.
So please try the current version and reopen this issue if it still happens
there.
