------- Additional comments from [email protected] Mon Jun 15 01:25:17 +0000 2009 ------- Hi max5555! you appear to be "new" here (I had a quick query about your appearances here: 2 issues since 1 year) so I explain a little bit... "Why is there the possibility to vote for "Closed" issue then?" You are right! It shouldn't be possible! But the system is so complex, with a lot of flags and combination that disabling votes for closed issues does not justify the work investment. Simply consider: a closed issue is a dead issue, before making it live again (re-open, comment, vote...) look twice *why* it has been closed. "The policy about "Closed" issues is also not clear, should I make new issue each time when I'm not agree with the decision about closing of the issue?" In theory, no! Just re-open and give a *very* convincing argument that is new and shows that you have read carefully the whole issue. But in THIS case, you should re-open and comment an issue which is 4 miles away from this one which is just trash. "How can I notice that I'm aware about "Duplicates", should I give a list of their numbers in a comment?" No, you should just ignore duplicates and write in the very original issue. Provided you first have read carefully why the original issue has been closed. Saying "Yes but I need it!" ignores the reasons *why* it has been closed. Saying "Ok, I found a way to fix it and will soon deliver a patch that doesn't have the drawbacks of what the issue has been closed for" is a good reason for re-opening! ;) We (speaking fo IssueZilla, not the whole OpenOffice.org project) need users that find bugs we didn't find. Not users who absolutely want their convenience to be satisfied and ignore our justifications/explanations and say: "make it because I want it!" What we *also* need is developers who *make* things instead of people just *wanting* them. My advice: stay here a bit longer than 2 issues in 1 year and look at how the things are going, why issues get closed, forwarded, reopened and you will get it. Now if you have any pertinent questions about what I just wrote, feel free to e-mail me: I shouldn't have made an "issue handling course" here because it has nothing to do with the current problem. Anyway be Welcome to OOo! :) --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
