------- Additional comments from [email protected] Wed Jul 1 14:08:07 +0000 2009 ------- Dear Madam or Sir! Both EuroOffice Dictionary and Grammar Checker are madly aggressive in eating CPU clocks. After every keystroke, they run over the whole buffer, causing massive delays in GUI feedback. Machine is an Athlon XP 2500+ with 1 GiB RAM, even the SiS chipset seems to have solved the old speed problem. The internal FSS should preempt such greedy extensions regularly and pause them for a small amout of time to allow the Rest of OOo to catch up. Note that DOS-Word 4 had background tasks which were interrupted by any keystroke and mouse event and paused until input was idle for a few seconds. So an internal FSS should work even with OS' that lack splitting up a process into threads.
