In V3.1 the mentioned error occurs "Non existing objekt. The file doesn't exist." Bu addionally I tried again in V3.01 and I have to admit that the way I done it only works if I switch to system dialog by OS or by OpenOffice. As you said. A little weird because I always used system dialogs from OS in the past without problems.
