------- Additional comments from [email protected] Mon Jul 13 13:45:30 +0000 2009 ------- We have problems with our locale setup. We are using OOo 3.1 (3.1.0-9399.x86_64) on CentOS 5.3 systems. Our locale setup is: $ cat /etc/sysconfig/i18n LANG="nn_NO.UTF-8" SYSFONT="latarcyrheb-sun16" In OOo it is not possible to enter accent letters (^~") from the keyboard, but it is possible to copy them in. The file browser dialog displays UTF-8 characters correctly in filenames. It is possible to enter accent letters in other programs. If I set LANG="nb_NO.UTF-8" or "en_US.UTF-8", it works as expected. The conclusion is that, ether there is a problem with the fallback routine (I get no messages about invalid locale), there is a problem with the nn_NO.UTF-8 locale in OOo, or there is a problem with nn_NO locale on the system. The last point I have tried by copying /usr/share/i18n/locales/nb_NO to /usr/share/i18n/locales/nn_NO and replaced all nb_NO with nn_NO. This does not help.
