I'm using the community openoffice.org 3.1 (m11 on Ubuntu 9.04) and using the
attached figtest.odt I have the same issue. I suppose it's something GS-related,
because having a look into processes while the test page is loaded and scrolled,
the following action takes place:
1. Test document is the only opened doc (so there should be only one soffice.bin
process)
2. On initial eps image rendering, and while the page is scrolled (both of the
pages have a couple of eps images), the .bin process calls convert, which calls
sh, which calls gs (convert->sh->gs)
3. and after this the new soffice.bin child process is created and zombiefied
(the last column in processes says "do_exit")
4. it's the same for every eps image in the doc, or after refreshing such image.
