------- Additional comments from [email protected] Tue Aug 11 03:12:05 +0000 2009 ------- This could be comprehensive, alternate resolution of the issue 103200 "Wrong order of First/Last Name in CJK UI" In short, to comply with all possible, culturally different naming conventions on the globe, - Remove existing first name, last name, ..... text fields. - Add a new single text field for an entire name. Some of motivations are: - Major file formats such as ODF, OOXML, and PDF do not keep parts of author's name separately, they keep an author's (creator's) name as a single text. - Implementing various naming formats in a proper order of individual fields depending on a locale of UI could be costly. I currently think we could make source codes of OpenOffice.org related to a user name much simpler to some extent as long as the codes can fulfill the requirements of the major file formats.
