Has there been any progress on this issue, or the probably related/duplicate 94553 and 95602? This renders Impress essentially useless for working with a great many .ppt documents (which combined with various other compatibility bugs in 3.x means I actually spend far more time having to work directly in MS programs than I did with OO 2.x, since in the real world I deal with many MS documents).
