BTW: special float-type only exists since dbase 4, so if your parser really
strips the values, it is really, really broken.
Before dbase4, the only way to store decimal values/floating point numbers was
the numeric-type. And that in original dbase 3 can already store all precision
than OOo Calc can offer. (19 significant digits, 15 decimals) (other database
engines might store it with lower precision though)
using float-type would actually introduce incompatibility with dbase < ver4 and
is thus even less desireable.
