------- Additional comments from [email protected] Sat Aug 29 20:52:13 +0000 2009 ------- It is common to want to position one object right next to another object, or to want to position objects at a fixed distance from another. There are two alternative ways to support this feature: 1) the most natural way would be a shifted drag mode that snaps one edge of the selected object to another object. I suggest a snap distance of 10 pixels. If there are multiple edges within that distance, choose the one closest to the cursor; when the snap distance becomes zero to an adjacted object, stop moving the selected object (to avoid oscillating between two or more nearby edges). 2) allow Distribution to be applied to two objects, and offer a dialog that is similar to the regular Distribution dialog except that also has a numeric input field for Horizontal and Vertical, defaulting to zero. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
