Well I increased the value the memory for OO to the maximum allowed of 256 MB
and also the number of cached objects to a total of 600.
I still got the same errors, as you can see in the updated file (01.1) of my
handout.
So I guess this is not related to memory settings anymore, but a real bug in OO.
