I have also encountered strange things with langpacks on Win XP, with the
official
3.1.1 release.
1 - Initially I have uninstalled my OOo 3.1.0 and its langpacks.
2 - Installed OOo 3.1.1 en-US without JRE : OK.
(My 3.1.0 User data are correctly retrieved)
closing OOo
3 - Installed langpack fr : OK
closing OOo
4 - Installed langpack de : very short duration, langpack NOT installed.
5 - Installed langpack 3.1.1rc2 es : very short duration, langpack NOT
installed.
6 - Installed langpack 3.1.1rc2 it : very short duration, langpack NOT
installed.
7 - I opened the file explorer on the unpacked language packages :
Running setup.exe : same as 4
Double-click on openofficeorg31.msi : langpacks installed OK (de, es, it)
