I think I've been able to create a sheet showing the problem, even though in a
little different way. To reproduce the problem:

1) Open the sheet with calc
2) Enable macros if requested (i think it makes no difference, 'cause the bug
isn't macro related)
3) Dobule click on the big chart like if you wanted to modify it
4) Without modifying anything click outside of the graph, in any cell

On my system this causes calc to crash. BTW, in the meantime i upgraded to
version 3.1.1, so I attached a new crash trace for this version. The behaviour
changed a little too.

Up to version 3.1.0 after opening the sheet calc automatically considered it
modified, even if I changed nothing. If I tried to save it immediately I got
the crash. With version 3.1.1 the sheet is (properly) considered unchanged on
open, and if I change some cell and save it, it works, no crash. But if I try
to change the chart it crashes again, like it did with version 3.1.0.

Hope this helps nailing down the problem.
