I've just tested this in 3.1.1 (310m19) under Vista, and it still has the same
problem. Please look at Comparison.jpg. When viewed in OO (right side of jpg),
the numbering and text content are visually separated. When exported as text
(left side of jpg), the content of the numbered elements are placed immediately
after the number, with no intervening white space. This causes a real problem
when indexing the text output, as the indexer treats '1.Elementary' as a token.
Conceptually this is wrong, the data and markup are being merged. It also means
that searches will fail if 'Elementary' is the search term.
