------- Additional comments from [email protected] Fri Sep 18 09:53:08 +0000 2009 ------- There is a serious issue when dealing with documents containing numbers in DejaVu Sans Italic font. If the documents are exported to PDF by OOo, then joined by pdfwrite driver of GhostScript, then in the final PDF document some character(s) may be incorrectly substituted (for instance, the number "52" may become "58"). The bug does not appear if the OOo document is printed to a PostScript file, then converted to PDF by means of ps2pdf. Also, the bug may not appear if the font is different than DejaVu Sans Italic. Furthermore, the ranges of the numbers appear to be important. Bug reproduced in OpenOffice.org calc version 3.1.1, 3.1.0, 2.4.1, 2.4.0, 2.3.1, 2.3.0. Also reproduced by exporting to PDF two text documents in OOo writer 3.1.1. Bug reproduced by using GhostScript versions 8.64, 8.63, and 8.62. Steps to reproduce the bug: 1. Create an empty spreadsheet 2. Click on cell A1 3. Type "52" then <Return> to enter the number in the cell24 4. Click on cell A1 5. Select DejaVu Sans as font. 6. Click on the "I" (italic) button 7. Select menu File->Export as PDF... 8. Click Export button 9. Type "a" in File name box 10. Click Export button 11. Click on cell A1 12. Type "24" then <Return> to eneter the number in the cell 13. Click on cell A1 14. Verify that the font is still DejaVu Sans Italic 15. Select menu File->Export as PDF... 16. Click Export button 17. Type "b" in File name box 10. Click Export button 11. Clock OOo calc 12. Open a.pdf and b.pdf in a PDF reader to verify that they are correct 13. Issue the following command in a shell to join the PDF files: gs -q -dSAFER -dBATCH -dNOPAUSE -sOutputFile=x.pdf \ -sDEVICE=pdfwrite -c .setpdfwrite -f a.pdf b.pdf 14. Open the x.pdf file and check the number in the second page --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
