Did a little more testing -
Setting this issue as INVALID - not that it doesn't happen - it does, in fact I
can make this bug manifest using all MS tools also. (Specifically the free MSO
viewers) Along with a variant where the .doc files are found and all the .odt
files disappear and one more where Firefox 3.5 becomes the culprit.
Anyway - this certainly has nothing to do with icons. It is looking like it is a
problem with Win regsitry settings - the order apps are installed / removed and
the default application settings at the time, the last part being the trigger.
So it may still be something for OO.o to look at.
I'll take what I have and start looking at the MSN sites and see what I can find
out.
