Same problem for me. I use OpenOffice Writer 3.1.
Checked boxes saved in an odt-format-saved .doc document are no longer checked
when I re-open the document in OO Writer.
Furthermore, if my collaborator opens the document in MS Word, checks boxes, and
then sends it back to me, when I open her saved edits in OO Writer, all boxes
are unchecked, and single boxes that she had checked and saved are replaced by
double (side-by-side) empty boxes.
I'm going to have to buy MS Word because I can't use OO Writer to collaborate on
forms, because of this regression.
