For our further tests I suggest to have both SAL_DISABLE_FC_SUBST and SAL_DISABLE_CAIROTEXT set to 1. Finding out whether it is a font-specific problem please use the test from #desc6 and experiment with different japanese fonts. Does it happen for all of them? Maybe fiddle a bit with the font-size too in order to find out whether this has something to do with embedded-bitmaps. When testing I could reproduce a similar problem in DEV300_m54..m58, but not with e.g. OOO320_mX.
