2005 -------
I'm using HP's v3.5 driver package (6/2003, the latest) for the HP Photosmart
1218 attached to my WinXP Home platform via USB. A #10 envelope prints across
the narrow dimension (4.13") of the envelope, as if it were a "portrait"
oriented page. I also have OOo 1.1.3 installed, which prints the envelope
correctly, as landscape. I notice by inspection of the printer properties
(under 1.9.93) that the print driver is using a #10 envelope paper size, while
under 1.1.3, the page size remains at its 8.5"x11" default. I don't have any
other size envelope handy to see if this is reproducible with other sizes, such
as Monarch. If anyone would like screenshots, I'd be happy to provide them.
Thanks for your attention.
