I a document with narrow cells (which are expected to hold just one character),
entering some characters (which fit optically into the cell) cause an extra line
break. So if you enter one character, line-break, and another character, you'll
get a cell with the first character, and empty line, and the second character.
I'll provide a sample document. Found in OOO 3.1, and it's there in 3.1.1 as
well, just as in StarOffice 9.1 (9 Update 2).
BTW: If I try to save the file as MS-Word document (Word 2000), and then try to
open it in word, Word 2000 crashes. So I cannot really tell whether MS-Word
would do it any better.
