What is the exact request ? stop using .bmp in the whole Office, or just in a
part, here the Wizards ?
Bitmap is heavily used in OpenOffice.org, because the engine is old and never
rewritten. But I
completely agree with you :)
Another file format who could be used (and already implemented in OOo) is .png.
