------- Additional comments from [email protected] Sun Nov 1 03:43:00 +0000 2009 ------- With the spreadsheet at ftp://66.92.65.9/pub/degree_days.ods, if I try to input a value into the spreadsheet (say, 398 at 'Heating Degree Days.K140) or otherwise try to change anything (delete a value, insert a row, etc), it takes a very long time for the spreadsheet to accept the input (about 9 seconds on a 3.6 GHz Core 2). OOo is running flat out while this is taking place. I'm running with autocalculate turned off. Removing one or both of sheets 11 or 12 (snowfall ranking or precipitation ranking) improves this considerably, although just removing the contents of these sheets doesn't help much. Performance also improves substantially (to about 1.5 seconds) if I delete the contents of rows P-AB, AE-AQ, and AT-BF of sheets 4 (Snowfall) and 5 (Precipitation) (I haven't tried actually removing the columns, just the formulas in the cells in these columns). These columns contain moving averages of 10, 13, and 30 years of columns B-M (months). Removing some of these columns yields a partial improvement proportional to how many columns I remove; removal of all of these columns in either one of the two sheets yields most of the performance improvement (to about 3 seconds). Note that nothing entered in sheet 1 (which is temperature data) has any effect on the snowfall or precipitation sheets. Also note that the monthly moving averages from the snowfall and precipitation sheets aren't used elsewhere (they're of interest to me, but aren't dependencies for anything else). There are annual moving average columns in those two sheets that are used elsewhere (in the charts on the last sheet), but removing that sheet has no effect on the issue. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
