On my desktop I have until now successfully had three openoffice .doc files,
set
up with three different formatting variables, e.g. double-spaced and justified,
single-spaced and left-oriented, single-spaced with my address already included
top-right. This enables me to just double-click on one and get a document
going
quickly without dwelling on any elaborate formatting procedure. This has
worked
for Windows Vista, Windows 2000, Ubuntu and Xubuntu (8.10,9.04 and 9.10); but
with
Windows 7, when I double click this document the program appears to start,
placing
the openoffice icon on the new Windows 7 taskbar, but I cannot use the program
until I hover over that icon, when the openoffice screen finally appears. This
doesn't happen with any other program I use with Windows 7. Thanks for your
time.
