I feel like an idiot.  Apparently in Tools -> Options -> OpenOffice.org Calc ->
General -> Input settings -> Use printer metrics for text formatting was
cleared.  Selecting this obviously fixed my issue both at home and at work.

Though I feel it is weird to have to find this somewhat obscure option just to
fix my issue, and that not using printer metrics and printing to a printer with
different metrics isn't handled properly (see the original text overlapping due
to differing metrics) I guess this still technically fixes my issue.

So why isn't this very logical option selected by default anyways?
