@SBA: I don't think this is really related to the submitter's Chinese system
locale but more to the way he drags & drops the file from his desktop into the
Writer (see the movie attached).
The drag & drop causes a *linked section* to be created in the document.
Thus no image can be displayed.
I tried drag and dropping with every possible Ctrl, Shift combination, in every
possible UI element of the Writer and using a directory called "示例图片" but I
couldn't reproduce this section insertion.
