1) To the way you reported:
The enhancement was well hidden in the description!
You enumerated all possible format loss and the title "export to word 95 looses
too much information (tables, characters/encoding)" doesn't show a request for
enhancement but format loss by saving.
This IS a multiple issue when you write "Before I describe, what happens, I want
to have a request."
Ok now you recycled it to an enhancement only... But next time please, accept
the invalid and file a new and clean issue.
2) To your request:
Frankly said, the warning we are showing is really enough and makes the user
responsible and aware of what he does. He only needs to READ and decide.
Taking this responsibility from user is not a good thing.
I also don't want my hard disk to get stuffed with duplicated files of
everything I save to other formats.
So in case of an implementation of your request, I advocate for a default=OFF.
The only user case I see for your request are people who intensively or only use
an alien format for their documents (see "Tools - Options - Load/Save -
General", "Document type" and "Always save as").
Those people will probably switch the warning by saving off, *know* that they
risk a data loss but want a security in the background.
In this context, the enhancement is valid.
