*** While reporting this bug I did not notice any option that allows uploading
files ***

I have a doc for which I have changed the template.
In the Writer at Tools->Options->Load/Save->General section I have unmarked the
option "Load user specific settings with the document". This allows when the
template changed to have a pop-up message that offers the option to apply the
new styles (i.e. update the doc to new template) or keep the old ones.
I found two issues that crashed the writer when the new styles are applied, and
I will detail below. It may be more issues, but I have attached a short version
of the doc that I am using.
Note that the crash happens both in Linux and Windows XP with the latest stable
versions (3.1.1) of OpenOffice installed.

*** Short description of the files attached ***
ReferenceDoc.odt is the document for which the template Carte_A5.ott was
changed. The change in the template Carte_A5.ott was for the paragraph TextBody
style for which in the Text Flow tab the "Orphan control" and "Window control"
options have been unmarked.

*** 1st issue ****
Two situations are described below.

a) While opening the ReferenceDoc file the pop-up window that allows applying
the new style appears. Selecting the option to update to new styles crashes the
Writer.

b) Open again ReferenceDoc, but this time select to keep the old styles. Go to
the end of the document. You will notice 4 rows of "x". Delete those 4 rows and
save the doc. Open it again, but now select to apply the new styles. Note that
in this case there is no crash.
You can add yourself back some 4 lines text at the end of the doc, but don't
forget to use the the original ReferenceDoc since at this time the new styles
are successfully applied.

*** 2nd issue ***
Now we have to change the original setup.

Open the original ReferenceDoc, keep the old styles when the pop-up window
appears and delete the 4 lines of "xx" at the end of the doc. Save the file.
This will ensure that 1st issue will not happen, as described in 1b) above.

Modify the template Carte_A5 by going File->Templates->Edit. Go to paragraph
Heading 2 style, and modify it by selecting the tab Text Flow and enabling in
the Breaks section the "With Page Style" and Default page. Save the template.

Open ReferenceDoc and you will be prompted to apply the new styles. If you click
to apply the new styles, the Writer crashes.

The issues occurs at the page 3 in the ReferenceDoc with Content section which
is a Heading 2 type.
In the template Heading 2 inserts a page break before and starts the page with
the page style Default.
In the ReferenceDoc, the Content which is Heading 2, has a page break before it,
but the page style was set manually to First Page (check the page style for the
Content section).

I would expect that the Writer would change the page style for page 3 with
Content, from First Page to Default, as the template commands.
