The opinion shared by a lot of people around me is that OO is bloated and buggy... nevertheless it is pretty useful ! (and I would not be able to program such a thing in a better way in my lifetime...) In this case, I wonder if the problem is just be that "bh" is not working any more on OO. For example, in issue 29989 (which is also assigned to bh) I signaled two times that it is a duplicate of this one. It would be very quick to mark issue 29989 as a duplicate of 22309. However, it has not been done. As a consequence, I think that bh is not active in OO any more.
