I created many spreadsheets over the years using Excel 2000. Most of these load
fine with Calc, but some of them hang at the "adapt row height" stage. My PC
has 4-GB of RAM, Core i5 750 (quad core) CPU, running 64-bit Windows 7. If i
start Task Manager, one core uses lots of CPU and free RAM just dwindles to
almost zero, until the program terminates abnormally. This takes several
minutes. These spreadsheets are not very big, say 300 KB. My favorite font is
size 8 Tahoma, in case the "adapt row height" actually means anything.
