Note: The naming conventions/looks for the characters
  %varepsilon %vartheta %varpi %varrho %varsigma %varphi
and 
  %epsilon %theta %pi %rho %sigma %phi
were originally defined to look like those used in TeX for those characters with
the same name. Thus epsilon/varepsilon and theta/vartheta look like in TeX which
may be _different_ to what they look like in
  http://unicode.org/charts/PDF/U0370.pdf
or
  http://www.w3.org/TR/MathML/bycodes.html
