The hang when pasting is indeed reproducible with OOo31x, the stacks suggest
that it loops in
SwTxtNode::CountWords(). I haven't seen that hang in OOo320-rc versions yet.
Since the related code has
seen some non-trivial action in the meantime this could explain it. Before
investigating further on the
code level we should be sure that it still happens:

or with a pre-release of OOo 3.2 (e.g. OOO320_m7)
