------- Additional comments from [email protected] Thu Dec 17 05:40:50 +0000 2009 ------- Good morning folks, By chance I stumbled upon the current OOo beta (OOO320m7 from openoffice.org as well as OOO320m21 from openSUSE BuildService) now being able to use OpenType fonts with Type1 outlines (OTF). So I had to play with this a bit, and it didn't take me long to find a major usability caveat: pair kerning does not work for OTF fonts. I only tested this with Writer, but I strongly guess that this issue is also present in the other components. A sample document will follow.
