@MBA: it doesn't look like a font problem but more like a HTML import problem.
Though the reporter doesn't tel *where* the character has been copied *from*, I
can reproduce this problem copying the character (U+26271) from this issue
(using FF or IE) and pasting it in Writer.
Doing this over notepad (FF -> Notepad -> Writer) works fine.
Conclusion: HTML import bug (?)
