MRU, you are right.
This defect occurs since OOo 2.2 - the release in which cws swautomatic01
(introduction of automatic styles in the Writer core) has been integrated.
Defect cause:
The character attributes which are set at the paragraph's automatic paragraph
style are broken each into a automatic character style. In the given test case
we have three character attributes - bold, bold for Asian and bold for CJK.
OD->MST:
Please take over as discussed.
Method <SwTxtNode::FmtToTxtAttr(..)> is used during the merge of the two
paragraphs in order to transform the automatic paragraph style's character
attributes into directly set character attributes which should result into _one_
automatic character style. I think this method needs adjustment.
