I am a regular Joe, long-time user of this app - even when it was priced? - and
maintain a small installed base on mainly linux platforms.
For many years users had to manually tweak certain files to get British English
[BE] working on the dictionaries and in particular the thesaurus. The way to
enable this has changed in version 3 and so one one or two opensuse boxes I
spent about a day enabling BE thesaurus on 3.1.1.0 - I can't remember how it was
done, but I do remember the pain.
I've just wiped and updated to OpenSuse 11.2 64 bit and OO 3.1.1.4.
Once again I have no British English thesaurus.

I have some more installs of 00 [3.1.0] where no work was required [as far as I
can remember]. For these machines I am loath to update unless BE is enabled.
Users need some certainty that BE can be used or applied easily without serious
anorak effort!!
As a result of seeing several installs I am unsure if the issue is actually with
OO but rather with the various packages for each linux flavour i.e. on opensuse
64 11.2 no BE whilst netbooks on Linpus/fedora & windows have BE thesaurus.
This is really off-putting and a major inconvenience. it's embarrassing.
Is there any way to ensure that packages have both (BE & otherE) available - not
localisation but actually working dictionaries and thesaurus?
Is this an OO issue at all? if so I want to volunteer to ensure BE availability
