There is no new slide added to the presentation. The white page is like the
black page only a fading.
You can only write with the pencil, if you add first a empty page to your
presentation and jump to that page in the slide-show (via the context menu or a
hotspot).
The behavior of OOo is correct because a click with the mouse stops the fading.
If you want that you are able to add a new page to the presentation during the
slide-show mode, write an new issue and describe your feature request.
