I can confirm your observation ... :(
If I create a new presentation and follow your instructions, I can confirm, that
the font changes in Writer (in my case from Liberation Sans, 18pt to Bitstream
Vera Sans, 18pt) ... :(
If I copy text from Writer to Calc, the font changes from Liberation Sans 10pt
to Bitstream Vera Sans 10pt ... :( In both cases I mean the parts of the words,
where I changed the formatting of the text as instructed ... ;)
