Since I use a single form document to merge with several database entries, I 
have 
to use MailMerge instead of FieldMerge. - After pressing the MailMerge button I 
go 
on with 
(7) personalize document and
(8) store document.
When personalizing, all DB entries are used and not just the ones I selected 
before.
However, ahead of the menu point "personalizing" there is the menu point (6) 
for 
selecting records which is somewhat cumbersome for this job, where you have a 
large 
database and want to select many entries from it.
The whole menu sheet you get after pressing the MailMerge button seems 
inadequate to 
handle the type of problem I want to solve.
