A formated cell, with additional Conditional Formating, imports with incorrect
size, color and/or font. Different results obtained depending on Excel version
which created the file (2003, 2007 or 2008-Mac) and Excel format (XLS or XLSX).

A test file can be created by leaving cell A1 blank, In cell B1 enter the
formula,
=if(or(a1="",a1=0),"",if(a1=1,"J",if(a1=2,"K","L")))
Format cell B1 with the Windings font and size 36.
Add 2 criteria for Conditional Formating of cell B1
If B1=J -- set Font color to Green
If B1=L -- set Font color to Red

With the above test, cell B1 should vary depending on the value of cell A1 as
follows.
   If A1=null B1=null
   If A1=0 B1=null
   If A1=1 B1=Green Smiley face
   If A1=2 B1=Black Blahhh face
If A1=anything else B1=Red Frown face

I tested the above with test files created in
Excel 2008 for Mac running on a MacBook Pro under OS-X 10.6
Excel 2007 running in a Bootcamp partition on the MacBook Pro under Vista
Business Edition
Excel 2003 running on a Dell laptop under Windows XP
For Excel 2008 and 2007, both XLS and XLSX test files were created.

The only correct import was for Excel 2007 with the XLSX file format. The
other results were as follows:

Excel 2008(XLS) Characters with Conditional Formatting printed with Default
(not Wingdings) Font while character with no conditional formating printed
correctly . Size and Color OK for all.

Excel 2008(XLSX) All characters print with Default (not Wingdings) Font and
all are Black only. Size OK for all.

Excel 2007(XLS) Characters with Conditional Formatting printed with Default
(not Wingdings) Font and Default (not 36) Size while character with no
conditional
formating printed correctly. Color OK for all.

Excel 2003(XLS) All characters print with Default (not Wingdings) Font.
Color and Size OK for all.

Please let me know if more info is needed.
