The notification for update to OOo 3.2 is showing now (5 March). So as
respondent has said, not everyone is notified of the new point update right
away. This is in the interests of not swamping the download servers which hand
out the new version, as might happen if on day zero of a new release the whole
OOo community was notified, "There is a new 120MB OOo release out now -
everyone rush to the site now and try to download it."
Suggestion though (as I cannot have been the only person to encouter this
issue) would be for the 'check for updates' screen to have a little link
saying 'More...', or 'Why aren't my updates showing?', which pops up a page to
say "Update notifications do not show for all users immediately. They can be
delayed for up to 30 days. This is to even out the distribution load on the
download servers."
