Inserting a single quotation mark (Alt0145) immediately before an existing
character automatically inserts a space between the single quote (Alt0145) and
the existing character. The space, which shouldn't be created, has to be
manually deleted. 
This doesn't happen with any other character in the extended character set as
far as I can see.
