I have managed to isolate the problem, as far as input into the GUI is
concerned. (I have used a very simplified 5 record, two data field test
database.)
It appears to be a record numbering problem.

The most recent test kit included screen shots of the Print Dialogue, and the
resulting files, with identical names for cross reference.

In the Mail Merge Print dialogue, the selection of "Records>All" is partially
okay, because it prints out my records, but the odt produced has 5 visible
sheets, but if I drag the scroll bar at the side, it claims there are 9 pages to
the document. There are slight artificats on the page at the bottom of the first
four sheets that seem to indicate some glitch associated with this.

The and the selection of "Records>Selected Records" seems to function properly.

However, when "Records>From:" is selected, there is a more serious problem. The
files, in my tests, would only print up to "n-1" of "n" records. So if I request
records "1 To: 5", I only get records 1-4. If I request records "1 To: 2" I get
the first record, and if I select record "1 To: 1", I get a sheet with greyed
out datafield blanks. This seems idependent of file type or other variables,
such as printing as 'individual document' or printing as 'single documents'
