Ok, I see the problem. But it's a little bit different to you description.
The Updatechecker close properly. But the Menu called by the right click on te
OpenOffice.org.app at the dock don't remove the empty. So if You click on the
"dead emptry" "Check for Update" then the check for update Dialog open again.
