The date formatting assumes, that the cell content without formatting is the
number of days since 30.12.1899. So "1" is the date 31.12.1899 and that is
December.
If you want to show only the Month of the date, the cell content has to be the
real date and the formatting then MMMM. Or if you need the month as text use
=TEXT(C4;"MMMM") for example.
