A feature that doesn't work reliably is NOT a feature. My 240 page book consisting of 14 chapters in separate files and assembled by a Master document had random cross-reference errors. I had to export as a single document and then hand edit in order to publish. Without this feature OO isn't a serious tool and I might as well use abiword.
