------- Additional comments from [email protected] Wed Apr 21 11:01:03 +0000 2010 ------- The new UI (DEV300_m76) on WINDOWS looks good in general, but in the 'Print' dialog, 'reversed' is now under 'Options', not with 'odd/even' on 'Page Layout' - this will make it difficult to simulate DUPLEX on a single-sided printer. On WINDOWS, using the DEV300_m76 build, the 'reversed' option is properly sensitive to the Windows driver settings available from 'Properties' or from the Windows Printer maintenance. On LINUX, using build 3.1.1 on Ubuntu, the OOo 'reverse' option is not sensitive to the CUPS setting (using HPLIP), and overrides it, so that 'reversed' has to be used to get reasonable output on a face-up printer output. The OOo 'reverse' setting on LINUX needs to be sensitive to the CUPS OutputFaceUp setting of the particular printer, or to a setting in Print/Properties, so that (1) output is *effectively* in reverse order when 'reverse' is not selected and the printer output is face-up (so that the printer output stack is 'normal'), and (2) output is *effectively* in normal order when 'reverse' IS selected and the printer output is face-up, so that the printer output stack is 'back to front'; this will then enable the user to simulate DUPLEX, using the 'left/right' selection. I'm afraid I have not tried the development build on LINUX - I'm nervous of contaminating the APT controls on a working system just before the new Ubuntu release; I'll try it most willingly if I can find assurance that it will install separately from the current Ubuntu build; and I'll continue looking for that assurance! --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
