------- Additional comments from [email protected] Wed Apr 21 22:29:47 +0000 2010 ------- Currently documents are loaded to the position and size of the last saved document, instead of the last position and size of the document in question. Saving the position/size context by document is more useful, especially if one normally has several documents open at the same time. The current behavior offsets marginally additional documents being opened, such that it is difficult to view several documents without moving/resizing. For documents regularly opened at the same time, this is inconvenient, and can waste a lot of time. Typically, each document has an optimal size, depending on the type of information contained. Conserving positioning is also an advantage. In my case I often have numerous spreadsheet documents open at the same time, for cross-reference, and waste a lot of time resizing/positioning. Note that this consideration applies to all types of documents, including word-processing, spreadsheets, etc. (There has been a similar issue 103431 filed for word-processing documents.) (I would use Writer much more if the problem were resolved for such documents.) This could be made an option for those that prefer the current behavior. (Preferably defaulting to save/restore-position/size-by-document.)
