However, rather than giving up after acknowledging the error message a number of times, I steadfastly okayed the message (hudreds and probably thousands of times) until it ceased to appear. If I perturbed the system in doing so, there was no obvious sign of it; I ran a short test with starcalc which seemed to run alright. However, I do not trust the result enough to propagate the new version right now to other computers.
