Hi fallenguru!

You describe 3 different problems in 1 issue.
This alone would make the issue invalid.
See: http://qa.openoffice.org/issue_handling/basic_rules.html#one_per_issue

But in this case, problem 1 & 2 have the same root cause which cannot be fixed
(for it's not a bug) and 3 is an annoyance which we have no solution for (I'll
reassign to SBA for this).

Let's detail:

1 & 2) "When I type mixed text CJK and Western text, the CJK text looks bigger
than the Western text (1) and the lines where CJK text is located have a bigger
line spacing that the others (2)"

Considering all existing fonts, only a few support (contain) CJK characters.

The default Windows font "Times New Roman" has (at least AFAIK on a Western
system) no CJK support so it is needed to use a CJK font similar to (but
slightly different from!) Times New Roman when writing in CJK.

As different fonts have different appearances, they show different absolute
sizes though the same point size is used for both and thus this influences the
line spacing when mixed fonts exist on the same line.

Be sure to have checked "Tools - Options - Language Settings - Languages -
Enabled for Asian languages", then you will be able to see the font used for CJK
under "Format - Character - Font - Asian text font". The font used might be
something like "MS Mincho"...

Even if you set "Asian text font" to "Times New Roman" OOo will *internally*
fallback to a known CJK font and ignore your setting because, once again, Times
New Roman does not support CJK.

Tipp: to have an optical consistency in your text, use a CJK font for both
Western and CJK text.
How to identify CJK fonts on your system (WIndows)? Go to the Fonts directory:
the biggest font files (10-30MB+) are for sure CJK.

In this case, problem 1 & 2 will be solved (beside the fact that a CJK text will
always look "different" from a Western text ;))) ).

3) "After having switched my keyboard from/to CJK/Western, the space I type is
still CJK".

AFAIK that's the way our language recognition works: the language switch in OOo
doesn't get any event from the system and can only check for changes when
*something else than a blank is typed*.

@SBA: Please confirm/deny my last (3) statement.
