The auto decimal is merely displaying the internal cell result and should not be responsible for the internal binary rounding error. IOW, if we were to fix anything here, then the fix would have to go somewhere before the number reaches the auto decimal code. I don't think the auto decimal code is the right place to handle this binary rounding issue.
